This fantastic weather seminar, presented by Bill Frank, will cover Inflight Weather Tactics. Bill presents a wealth of practical information coupled with incredible in-flight footage.
Inflight Weather Tactics
As our aircraft capabilities continue to expand, so do our missions. Whether it’s a 100 mile jaunt for that $100 hamburger, or an 800 mile journey to visit friends or relatives, our chances of encountering significant weather enroute expands correspondingly the further we venture from our home base. Planned or unplanned weather encounters challenge our pilot skills and judgment. The Weather Tactics seminar provides the pilot with practical knowledge to deal with enroute weather. The course focus is on thunderstorms and icing. Included in the discussion is some basic meteorology to better understand what you are dealing with and how to better assess the associated risks. The bulk of the course reviews general and tactical strategies for staying safe in these two environmental threats. Included is a generous section on properly interpreting NEXRAD information. Pilots completing the course should come away with an increased respect for thunderstorms and icing as well as a broadened knowledge base for dealing with inadvertent severe weather encounters.
